Gervinho Backs Luis Enrique As Ideal Coach For Yan Diomande At Leipzig

Gervinho believes Luis Enrique could be the perfect coach to guide Yan Diomande at Paris Saint-Germain, if a transfer happens. The former Ivory Coast forward feels the PSG boss would suit Diomande’s profile, as the winger weighs up interest from the European champions and from Liverpool following a standout World Cup.

Diomande is currently under contract at RB Leipzig, where the 19-year-old enjoyed a stellar campaign that raised the interest of major clubs. Reports state Diomande prefers a move to PSG ahead of Liverpool, although Leipzig are determined to keep the winger and are expected to resist offers.

Diomande has been a standout for Ivory Coast at the World Cup, driving much of the team’s attacking play. Gervinho said: “I won’t base my opinion on what the press says when it comes to his final choice, Gervinho told Stats Perform. Until we see him wearing the official shirt of a club, we can’t really say anything. But if it is Paris, I think with the coach they have, Luis Enrique, who I believe brings out the best in young players, then if thats the choice he has made, I think he has all the arguments on the table to choose his club, whichever club he goes to. We will always be there watching him and supporting him, because he will be the one to carry the Ivory Coast team into the future.”
