India will be up against England in the first T20I of a five-match series today (Wednesday, July 1) at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street, Durham.

Shreyas Iyer-led Indian team are coming into this series on the back of a 2-0 series defeat against Ireland. It promises to be an intriguing series as team India will have a big task ahead of them after the recent debacle.

India captain Shreyas Iyer won the Toss and elected to Bat first.

Shreyas Iyer said the mood is excellent at the team and confirmed that the Ireland series is past. England captain Harry Brook said that he wanted to bowl and happy with the decision.

“We are looking forward to the series. The mood is nice. Pretty decent amount of grass on the wicket. Can’t predict how it’s going to play, but definitely the intent is going to be high. Going with three spinners, two seamers,” Shreyas said.
