Arsenal Women Sign Geraldine Reuteler On Free Transfer

Arsenal Women have added Switzerland midfielder Geraldine Reuteler on a free transfer after Reuteler left Eintracht Frankfurt, strengthening the squad for the 2026-27 campaign. Reuteler arrives at Emirates Stadium after eight years in Germany and described the switch as a major personal step at this stage of Reuteler’s career.

Reuteler spoke of the move with clear emotion after signing the deal with the Women’s Super League club. “It means so muchI can’t put it into words,” Reuteler told Arsenal’s website after completing the transfer. “Arsenal is one of the best clubs in the world and I’m so proud that I can be here. The arrival of Reuteler continues a busy summer for Arsenal Women ahead of a second full season under Renee Slegers. Georgia Stanway and Selina Cerci have already joined, with Reuteler announced as the third summer signing on Wednesday, underlining a clear plan to deepen options in central areas.

During Reuteler’s spell at Eintracht Frankfurt, the midfielder produced 54 goals and 44 assists in 184 matches, offering a consistent goal threat from midfield. Eintracht finished third in the 2025-26 Frauen-Bundesliga, behind Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg, highlighting Reuteler’s experience competing near the top of a leading European league.

Reuteler is also a key figure for Switzerland, earning 91 caps and helping the national team reach the quarter-finals at last year’s European Championships on home soil, where Switzerland lost 2-0 to eventual runners-up Spain. Across the top five European leagues last season, Reuteler was the only player to post at least 30 shots, with 41, 37 chances created from open play, 34 successful tackles, and 31 clearances, underlining a balanced profile that Arsenal Women can now use across domestic and European fixtures.
