MI vs RR IPL 2026: Preview, Head-to-Head Record As Rajasthan Looks To Seal The Fourth Playoff Spot

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) travel to the state of Maharashtra to take on the Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 69 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday, May 24, at the Wankhede Stadium.

MI have nothing to play for apart from pride following yet another disappointing campaign. The five-time champions have picked up a mere four wins from 13 matches this season to find themselves in ninth spot in the standings.

RR, however, is still in the hunt to secure a playoff berth. The Jaipur-based franchise knows that a win against MI guarantees a place in the top four, where they would go on to face the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator.

The game on Sunday afternoon will be the second meeting between MI and RR during this year’s IPL. The Royals secured a 27-run win over Hardik Pandya’s side in Guwahati, Assam, during the early stages of the tournament.

MI vs RR: Pitch Report Wankhede Stadium

Wankhede Stadium is widely known for its batting-friendly surface, often producing high-scoring contests regardless of which team bats first. Chasing sides usually enjoy an added advantage, with totals well beyond 200 often within reach. The relatively short boundaries further aid stroke-making, allowing batters to clear the ropes with ease. However, bowlers can find some early movement with the new ball, especially in the opening overs.
