Real Madrid Break FIFA World Cup Record as Mbappe and Bellingham Lead Historic Goal Haul

Real Madrid’s stars are not just driving their respective nations towards FIFA World Cup glory-they are also rewriting tournament history together.

Following England’s quarter-final victory over Norway, Real Madrid players have now scored a combined 19 goals at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the most ever by players from a single club in one edition of the tournament.

The Spanish giants have eclipsed the previous record of 18 goals, jointly held by Hungarian side Honvéd (1954), Bayern Munich (2014) and Paris Saint-Germain (2022).

Real Madrid players dominating the Golden Boot race

Much of Madrid’s record-breaking tally has come through Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham, who have both been among the standout performers of the tournament.

Mbappe leads the way with eight goals for France, putting himself firmly in contention for the Golden Boot as Les Bleus prepare to face Spain in the semi-finals.

Bellingham, meanwhile, has scored six goals for England, including both strikes in the Three Lions’ dramatic 2-1 extra-time victory over Norway that booked a semi-final meeting with Argentina.

Vinicius Junior has added four goals for Brazil despite their Round of 16 exit, while Arda Guler has contributed one goal for Turkey.

Together, the quartet have amassed 19 goals-more than any collection of players from the same club in World Cup history.

Jude Bellingham continues rewriting England history

England’s victory over Norway saw Bellingham achieve several individual milestones alongside helping Real Madrid set the club record.

At 23 years and 12 days old, he became the second-youngest player in World Cup history to score two or more goals in successive knockout matches, with only Pelé (17 years, 249 days in 1958) achieving the feat at a younger age.

The midfielder also equalled Gary Lineker’s England record of six non-penalty goals at a single major international tournament-a remarkable achievement given Lineker was a striker while Bellingham operates in midfield.

His latest brace also took him to eight goals in major tournaments for England, moving him ahead of Wayne Rooney on the country’s all-time list. Only Harry Kane, Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer have now scored more.

Real Madrid’s record-breaking contributors will now turn their attention to the World Cup semi-finals, where club loyalties will temporarily be put aside.

Mbappe’s France face Spain, while Bellingham’s England take on Lionel Messi’s Argentina in another blockbuster last-four encounter.

With both players chasing the World Cup trophy-and Mbappe also battling for the Golden Boot-the Bernabéu’s biggest stars could yet add even more goals to an already record-breaking tournament.
