Amieyra Khoslla Sets Indian Youth Record At IFSC 2026

India’s 15-year-old speed climber Amieyra Khoslla made history at the IFSC World Youth Climbing Championships 2026 in Arco, Italy, on 28 July 2026. She finished sixth in the world with 7.60 seconds and set a new Indian National Youth Record in speed climbing.

Amieyra had already improved her personal best in qualifying, clocking 7.74 seconds before bettering it again in the final. Competing against the world’s best young speed climbers, her result stood out as one of the strongest by an Indian at the World Youth Championships.

Amieyra said representing India was “one of the proudest moments of my life” and called the sixth-place finish and national youth record a dream come true. She said improving her personal best twice at the world event gave her confidence and made her want to work harder.

She also thanked Coach Albert, Coach Abhishek, her parents, teammates and supporters. Amieyra is also a sprinter: she won silver in the 100 metres at the SGFI National School Games 2024, finished fifth in the Junior National Athletics Championships 2025 in the 60 metres, and has been Delhi State Champion in the 60 metres for 2024, 2025 and 2026.

Coach Albert Ok, an internationally renowned Olympic speed climbing coach, said Amieyra had made “truly world-class progress in just a matter of weeks.” He added that her rapid improvement showed “exceptional talent, discipline, and determination,” and said she could reach the highest levels of world competition.

Her personal speed climbing coach, Abhishek Mehta, said he had spent four years working to unlock her potential. He called the 7.60 seconds “a proud moment” and said the performance was “not our destination; it’s our starting point,” adding that Indian speed climbing can compete with the best in the world.

The Indian team also included Shlok Dadukar, Neil Warke and Rudra Karandikar. Their results showed India’s depth at the event, with each athlete competing against a strong global field in youth climbing.
