Reportedly, Purja was leading an international expedition on the 8,047-metre Broad Peak, the world’s 12th highest mountain, when the deadly avalanche hit.

Nims Purja (Nirmal Purja) Last Voice Message Before Disappearance
Amid the growing concern, Nims Purja’s last voice note has left netizens in deep worry. Hours before his disappearance, Purja had sent a voice message to NDTV’s Vishnu Som, as reported by the portal. On July 29 (Wednesday) at around 8:00 AM, Vishnu received a voice note on his WhatsApp from Nims.
Previously, the reporter had contacted Nims regarding an event. Nims was checking the weather report on his phone when he accidentally downloaded Vishnu’s message and sent him a reply through the voice note. In the audio message, the Nepali mountaineer can be heard saying, “Hey brother, greetings and namaste. Right now, I am on Camp 2 of Broad Peak, which is among 8,000-meter (26,247-foot) mountains. I am now running for my 58th summit of 8,000-meter peaks, which is the highest in the world. I just opened the internet to check the weather forecast. But this message got downloaded as well. I will be in touch after the summit. But if there is anything, please leave the message.”

Hours after the voice note, Purja also sent him a text saying, “Hope you guys are well and it’s great to be connected. Thank you guys and greetings from Camp 2 on Broad Peak. Ciao Ciao.”
