Speculation surrounding Hardik Pandya’s future has intensified once again after the Mumbai Indians captain was spotted at the Tirumala temple, with fans linking the visit to growing rumours of a sensational move to Chennai Super Kings ahead of IPL 2027.

“A range of options and ideas is being evaluated, which takes time, so no decisions have been made.”

The statement is the clearest indication yet that the franchise has not entered formal negotiations over Pandya’s future, despite widespread speculation online.

Questions over Pandya’s long-term future at Mumbai Indians gathered pace following a disappointing IPL 2026 campaign.

After being appointed captain ahead of the 2024 season, Pandya has been unable to replicate the success he enjoyed with Gujarat Titans, while Mumbai failed to qualify for the playoffs in 2026. Reports of dressing-room friction and Pandya’s decision to part ways with Mumbai Indians’ talent management arm have only added to the speculation.
