Mandira Bedi On GEPL 2026 rise & Sara Tendulkar’s ‘Composure’ During Finals

Mandira Bedi, a former Indian cricketer, believes composure under pressure may be something Sara Tendulkar has inherited from her father, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.

Speaking at the grand finale of Season 3 of the Global e-Cricket Premier League (GEPL 2026), powered by JetSynthesys, Bedi praised Sara, owner of the Mumbai Grizzlies, for the calm she displayed during a tense finale.

“There is a lot of grace and calm under fire. The fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree,” Bedi said, drawing a clear parallel between Sara’s temperament and the composure that became synonymous with Sachin Tendulkar throughout his career.

A veteran of Indian cricket broadcasting, Bedi has long been regarded as one of the pioneering women to make a mark in a field that was once largely male-dominated. Her association with GEPL reflects her continued interest in the evolving landscape of cricket, particularly its digital and e-cricket formats.

Having followed GEPL for two consecutive seasons, Bedi also highlighted the tournament’s growth. Recalling the previous edition in Bengaluru, she said the latest season was “bigger, better, grander”, pointing to the expanded fan park and the addition of two new teams as key developments that enhanced the overall experience.

Although Mumbai Grizzlies fell short in the final, Bedi offered Sara words of encouragement, acknowledging the disappointment while applauding the evening’s entertainment.

“Sorry Sara, I know you’re very disappointed, but it was a great evening of very entertaining cricket,” she said.

For Bedi, however, the result did little to overshadow what she had observed in Sara: the ability to remain composed when the pressure is at its highest. The comments came as GEPL Season 3 concluded with a grand finale celebrating the continued rise of competitive e-cricket and its expanding fan base.
