DPL 2026: West Delhi Lions Pull Off Stunning Chase as Ayush Doseja, Nitish Rana Star in Victory

West Delhi Lions produced a superb run chase to defeat New Delhi Tigers by six wickets in a high-scoring Delhi Premier League 2026 encounter at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

After being asked to bat first, New Delhi Tigers overcame a shaky beginning to post a formidable 195/6 in 20 overs. The Tigers found themselves in trouble at 63/4 before Himmat Singh and Keshav Dalal rescued the innings with a crucial partnership.

Himmat struck a brisk 35 from 20 deliveries, while Dalal made 36 off 22 balls. The pair added 48 runs for the fifth wicket, laying the platform for a late assault.

That finishing charge came from Parth Bali and Manish Sehrawat, who turned the momentum firmly in New Delhi’s favour. The duo remained unbeaten while adding 57 runs for the seventh wicket. Bali hammered an unbeaten 35 from only 13 balls, while Sehrawat delivered a sensational eight-ball cameo worth 30*, smashing five sixes in the process.

West Delhi, however, showed little hesitation in the chase. Krish Yadav and Aaryavir Sehwag provided a positive start, putting together 41 runs for the opening wicket. Sehwag departed for 22 off 14 balls, but the Lions maintained their attacking approach.

The arrival of Nitish Rana shifted the game further in West Delhi’s favour. The experienced batter unleashed a blistering 50 from just 23 deliveries, keeping the required run rate under control and putting the Tigers’ bowling attack under sustained pressure.

Captain Ayush Doseja then delivered the decisive blow. Leading from the front, Doseja played a composed yet aggressive unbeaten innings of 64 off 33 balls, taking the Lions within touching distance of victory.

West Delhi eventually completed the 196-run chase with four wickets in hand, securing an impressive six-wicket triumph.

For New Delhi Tigers, Manish Sehrawat was the standout bowler, returning excellent figures of 3/20 from four overs. However, his individual effort could not prevent the Lions from completing one of the chase’s most impressive performances of the match.

With Rana providing the initial acceleration and Doseja finishing the job, West Delhi Lions demonstrated their batting depth and composure under pressure in a memorable DPL 2026 contest.
