Veteran Actress Sowcar Janaki Passes Away In Chennai
Legendary actress Sowcar Janaki passes away at the age of 94. Nadigar Sangam President Nassar informed the press via a statement that Janaki died on August 21 at the age of 94 following brief hospitalisation. “Legendary star Sowcar Janaki (94) passed away. Her mortal remains will be placed at Centoph Road, Teyampet, from 5 PM,” read his statement. She breathed her last today at 1:59 PM at the Kauvery Hospital in Chennai.

According to Bollywood Hungama, the makers are reportedly still in discussions with Deepika Padukone for a significant role in Brahmastra 2. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt has apparently been confirmed for the sequel. A source cited by the portal revealed that Alia will have an extended screen presence and is likely to shoot for around 25 days. The film is said to have a roughly 125-day shooting schedule and will reportedly focus on the characters of Dev and Amrita.
