New Delhi, Sep 1 (PTI) Actor Shalini Pandey reacted to her fake AI video circulating on social media and requested fans and followers not to engage with such content and rather report it. The actor said it is “deeply disturbing” to witness the misuse of the technology targeting different individuals, especially women. She shared a note on her Instagram handle on Monday as she addressed the circulation of the video.

“I want to address a fake, AI-generated video of me which is currently being circulated online. The video is completely fabricated and does not depict me. It is deeply disturbing… I strongly condemn this kind of abuse and think such misuse of technology should never be normalised,” she said. “If you come across this video, please do not share, forward, download, or engage. Instead, report it immediately. I request everyone to be responsible and mindful, and help stop the circulation of the video,” she added.
Recently, Mrunal Thakur has also addressed the dissemination of the deepfake content and said she will take legal action. The generated deepfake videos and pictures of celebrities have turned into a serious concern, with more and more content emerging across online platforms. Actors including Rashmika Mandanna, Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, among others, have been the victims of the deepfake content. Mandanna addressed the issue with a post in 2023 after a deepfake video with her face surfaced online. She called deepfake content “extremely scary”, with several celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, and Naga Chaitanya voicing their support to the actor.
