The makers of Heer Sara, starring Patralekhaa and Maanvi Gagroo, have unveiled the film’s latest song, Kehkasha, ahead of its theatrical release on June 12. Sung by Kamakshi Rai, composed by Arjun Iyer, and penned by Niket Pandey, the track captures the spirit of hope, self-discovery, and embracing life’s journey.
Directed by Kartik Chaudhry, the slice-of-life drama also features Arif Zakaria, Nishank Verma, and Shveta Salve in pivotal roles.
Speaking about the song, Kamakshi Rai shared, “I enjoyed singing Kehkasha so much when we were recording it. It’s a beautiful song that makes you feel like you can fly, like you’re capable of anything-it really galvanises you into movement. Arjun Iyer’s composition builds into an awe-inspiring crescendo, with a large chorus of singers joining in at the end to elevate the song even further. It does complete justice to Niket Pandey’s lyrics, which remind you to enjoy every step of the journey instead of focusing only on the destination.”
Opening up about the creative brief she received from the makers, the singer added, “Both Kartik and Arjun had a clear vision of what they wanted from the song, in terms of the vocal approach and the emotions they wanted the singing to evoke. That gave me a strong sense of direction. At the same time, they allowed me the freedom to interpret the lyrics and music in my own way, which led to some wonderful vocal variations. I’m just glad they were happy with the final result.”
Heer Sara is backed by Sony Music India and produced by Dinesh Soni under the banner of Maghaa Creations, Next Level Productions, and Opticus Inc. Next Level Productions is known for backing the acclaimed film Vadh, while Opticus Inc. produced the critically acclaimed Nil Battey Sannata. Raj Singh Chaudhary, known for writing Gulaal and directing Netflix’s Thar, serves as the creative producer of the project.
