Raiza Dhillon, Maheshwari Chauhan and Parinaaz Dhaliwal: Know the India Women winning Women’s Skeet Bronze at Asian Games

India’s Raiza Dhillon, Maheshwari Chauhan and Parinaaz Dhaliwal have secured a hard-fought bronze medal in the women’s skeet team event at the Asian Games 2026.

The trio combined for 331 points, with Raiza and Parinaaz contributing 111 each and Maheshwari adding 109. China claimed gold with 346, while Kazakhstan took silver.

The podium finish added another medal to India’s impressive shooting campaign and underlined the country’s growing strength in shotgun events. Earlier on the day, the Women’s team missed out on a medal in the 10m Air Pistol event, but the Skeet team made no mistake in their turn, clinching another big moment for India.

Who is Raiza Dhillon?

At just 22, Raiza Dhillon is already an Olympian and one of India’s prominent young skeet shooters. She was the youngest Indian shooter at the Paris 2024 Olympics and became the first Indian woman to secure an Olympic quota in women’s skeet when she won gold at the 2024 Asian Shotgun Championships in Kuwait.

Her family has a strong sporting connection. Dhillon began shooting at 12 and was initially attracted to the sport after seeing her great-grandfather’s collection of guns. She later developed into a specialist skeet shooter. In 2025, she won her first individual ISSF World Cup medal – a silver at the Junior World Cup in Suhl.

Who is Maheshwari Chauhan?

Maheshwari Chauhan, 30, brings considerable experience to the Indian team. She started shooting in 2012 and competing in 2013, initially trying trap before moving to skeet.

Her breakthrough came with a bronze at the 2017 Asian Championships. She later secured an Olympic quota for Paris 2024 at the Doha qualifying event. Chauhan also finished fourth in the mixed team skeet event at the Paris Olympics alongside Anantjeet Singh Naruka.

Who is Parinaaz Dhaliwal?

Parinaaz Dhaliwal, 24, comes from Patiala and has a particularly distinctive connection with shooting. She grew up around the New Moti Bagh Gun Club, a shooting range belonging to her royal family, and began with trap before switching to skeet.

Dhaliwal has already collected medals on the international circuit, including an ISSF World Cup team medal, and represented India at the junior World Championships. She entered the 2026 Asian Games ranked No. 1 in the NRAI selection rankings for the Games.
