Shiksha Dagar Alleges Threats from Sandeep Singh, Says Her Career Was ‘Ruined’

Haryana athletics coach Shiksha Dagar has once again spoken publicly about her long-running legal battle involving former Indian hockey captain and Haryana sports minister Sandeep Singh, alleging that she has been threatened and that the controversy has severely affected her professional career.

In a recent statement reported by Sportscape Magazine, Dagar directly addressed Singh and said: “Your Career Has Been Ruined By Your Own Bad Deeds.” She alleged that pressure and threats have continued even as the case proceeds through the courts.

The dispute dates back to December 2022, when Dagar, then a junior athletics coach, accused Singh of sexual harassment, stalking, criminal intimidation and other offences. Chandigarh Police subsequently registered an FIR and filed a chargesheet in August 2023 under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code. Singh has consistently denied the allegations and has described the complaint as false and politically motivated.

Who is Shiksha Dagar?

Dagar was an international-level athlete and later moved into coaching. Her association with Singh reportedly began through Haryana’s sporting establishment. She had previously spoken about approaching him regarding her professional career and alleged that their interactions eventually became inappropriate. Singh rejected the allegations when they first emerged.

The case has continued for several years. Charges were framed by the trial court in July 2024, while Dagar gave her first testimony before the court in 2026 and reiterated her allegations.

In April 2026, Chandigarh Police also sought to add an attempt-to-rape charge, citing Dagar’s statements recorded during the proceedings. The application remains part of the ongoing legal process, while Singh continues to deny the allegations.

Singh, a former India hockey captain and Olympian, was also a prominent political figure in Haryana and served as the state’s Sports Minister before relinquishing the sports portfolio after the allegations surfaced. The legal proceedings remain ongoing, and the allegations have not been finally adjudicated.
