The story of Vijay Salgaonkar is back on the big screen with Drishyam The Conclusion. The third film continues from the events of the first two instalments, with Ajay Devgn returning as Vijay and the makers keeping the biggest twists of the final chapter away from the audience.
The Drishyam franchise started in 2015 and was followed by Drishyam 2 in 2022. Both films revolved around Vijay’s desperate attempts to protect his family after an accidental death. His knowledge of films helped him build a detailed alibi and create a timeline that kept the police away from the truth.
However, Drishyam 2 also showed that the case was far from over. With questions still hanging over the family, the third instalment now takes the story ahead and brings Vijay face-to-face with the consequences of his past actions.
Abhishek Pathak returns to direct Drishyam The Conclusion. He has also worked on the screenplay with Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh. Along with Ajay Devgn, the film features Shriya Saran, Tabu, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Jaideep Ahlawat.
Drishyam 3: The Conclusion was released in theatres on October 2, 2026. The release date itself has a strong connection with the franchise, as October 2 was a key part of Vijay’s carefully planned alibi in the first film.
To get a clearer picture of the film’s box office prospects, Filmibeat recently spoke exclusively to trade analyst Rohit Jaiswal, who shared his assessment of the film’s budget and the earnings it needs to achieve a hit verdict. Talking about its budget, the trade analyst said, “The budget is around Rs 110 crore.”
DRISHYAM THE CONCLUSION BOX OFFICE TARGET UPDATE
Talking about the box-office target for the film, Rohit stated, “Drishyam 3 (The Conclusion) needs to collect around Rs 250 crore to get a clean hit verdict at the box office. If the film manages to touch around Rs 200 crore, it can be termed average. Anything below Rs 130 crore would put it in the flop category.”
