Nana Patekar Death: The news of veteran actor Nana Patekar’s death has prompted reactions from several members of the Indian film industry. Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Ravi Kishan were among those who expressed their grief on social media, remembering their personal experiences of working with the veteran actor.

Nana Patekar died at the age of 75 on Thursday, October 8. According to reports, the actor suffered a cardiac arrest at his residence in Goa early in the morning. He was subsequently taken to a hospital, where attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. His last public appearance was reportedly at an event in Goa on October 4.
The news prompted tributes from actors who had worked with Nana Patekar over the years. Akshay Kumar shared an emotional post on X, recalling his collaborations with the actor in Welcome and, more recently, Housefull 5.
Akshay wrote that he was deeply saddened by Nana Patekar’s passing and remembered the veteran for his distinctive screen presence. He also recalled his time with Nana on the sets of both films, saying that the memories from those shoots would remain with him.
Akshay also said it was hard to believe that Nana was gone. He described Nana Patekar as someone who had a presence of his own and ended his message by saying that he would be deeply missed.

Riteish Deshmukh also paid tribute to Nana Patekar in a post written in Marathi. He described himself as being left speechless by the news and recalled the different shades Nana brought to his performances, from intense characters to villains and comic roles.
Riteish had shared the screen with Nana Patekar in Bluffmaster! and Housefull 5. However, he also spoke about a professional wish that remained unfulfilled, the opportunity to work with Nana in a Marathi film. Riteish also remembered Nana’s efforts towards the welfare of people, noting that his contribution extended beyond cinema.
Beyond their film collaborations, Riteish remembered their conversations, Nana’s words of encouragement and moments of laughter. He offered his condolences to Nana Patekar’s family, friends and fans, describing the actor’s death as the end of an era.

Bhojpuri actor and politician Ravi Kishan also expressed his grief following Nana Patekar’s death. In a post on X, Ravi recalled the personal conversations he had shared with the actor and said he had learned from Nana’s approach to acting as well as his outlook on life.
Ravi Kishan remembered Nana Patekar’s simplicity and his connection to his roots despite his long career in mainstream Indian cinema. He said Nana’s death was a personal loss for him and a major loss for the film industry.

Nana Patekar had a career spanning several decades in Hindi cinema, with work across different genres. His final film appearance was in O’Romeo, which featured Shahid Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Avinash Tiwary and Disha Patani.

Nana Patekar’s death also prompted condolences from Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar, actor Ashok Saraf, social worker Prakash Amte, Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar and Maharashtra Congress president Harshvardhan Sapkal. Gadkari and Pawar recalled Patekar’s work with the Naam Foundation, while Saraf remembered their long association. Amte recalled Patekar’s portrayal of him in the Marathi film Prakashwata, while Shelar and Sapkal also recalled the actor’s contribution to Marathi and Hindi cinema and his social work.
As news of his death spread on Thursday, tributes came in from the film industry and people from different walks of life, with many remembering Nana Patekar for his work, personal interactions and contributions beyond cinema.
