Nana Patekar Death: Renowned actor Nana Patekar, who was known for his intense performances and strong dialogue delivery, is no more with us. The veteran actor breathed his last in Goa this morning and the sudden news of his demise has left the industry and his fans heartbroken. According to media reports, Nana Patekar, who was in Goa for an event, suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away at Manipal Hospital. The news of Nana’s demise was confirmed by his son Malhar Patekar who revealed that the medical team had found the veteran actor unconscious at his home.
To note, Nana Patekar was declared dead at 5:20 am. He was 75. According to media reports, Nana’s mortal remains are being transported to Pune now and his last rites will be conducted at his Pune farmhouse today at around 4 pm. Needless to say, the entire nation has been mourning Nana’s demise. Now, Dr Shekhar Salkar, Chief of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital, in a conversation with ANI revealed that doctors had tried to revive Nana Patekar for 45 minutes but the actor remained unresponsive. He also decoded late actor’s last minutes before his demise and revealed Nana had texted a friend at 2:30 stating he wasn’t keeping well.
Nana Patekar’s Last Message Before Demise
Dr Salkar stated, “From what we recalled, at around 2:30, he sent a message to his friend that he was not feeling well. But as it was nighttime, his friend could not see the message. So he just called him. He went to his house at around 4 o’clock. By that time, he was sweating and all. They moved him, all those primary things. But he was slowly becoming unconscious”.
Nana Patekar Was Given 45 Minutes Of CPR
Furthermore, Dr Salkar revealed that the medical team tried giving CPR for around 45 minutes to Nana Patekar before shifting him to the hospital. But the team failed to revive the veteran actor. “When our ER team went there, they started cardiac massage because he was totally unresponsive. They shifted him to our hospital at around 4:20 or 4:30 am. We also tried our best, but he was brought dead. Then we had to file a police case because there’s an MLC (medico-legal case). The body has now been taken to the Goa Medical College for post-mortem,” the doctor added.
Ever since the news of Nana Patekar’s unfortunate demise has surfaced, several celebs have paid their tributes on social media. Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, Jr NTR wrote, “Deeply saddened by the passing of Nana Patekar sir, one of Indian cinema’s finest actors. There was an unmistakable honesty and intensity in every character he portrayed. His performances never felt like acting, but life unfolding on screen. A remarkable artist whose contribution to Indian cinema will be remembered for generations. Heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. Om Shanti”.
