A sensational display of batting from Bihar’s young talent Akshara Gupta has rewritten the record books in women’s domestic cricket. On Thursday at the Sandis Compound Ground in Bhagalpur, during the opening matches of the BCA Women’s U-19 One-Day Trophy, Akshara produced a breathtaking unbeaten 306.
Representing her side, she compiled the 306* off just 126 balls, reaching a strike rate of 242.86 while spending 233 minutes at the crease. Her innings featured 55 fours and 8 sixes. The onslaught began immediately: she raced to a fifty in only 16 deliveries and brought up her century in just 34 balls, underscoring her extraordinary strokeplay and timing.

Bihar Cricket Association President Harshvardhan congratulated Akshara, noting that Bihar’s women cricketers are continually bringing pride to the state. He said the BCA is committed to expanding opportunities and platforms for players, and performances like this serve as powerful motivation for young cricketers.
Secretary Ziaul Arfin also extended his best wishes, calling the emergence of such talent at the very start of the BCA Women’s U-19 One-Day Trophy a very positive sign for the future of cricket in Bihar and wishing Akshara a bright career ahead.
Akshara’s 306* is now one of the most memorable individual knocks in women’s domestic cricket and a new milestone in BCA women’s records. Previously, Mumbai’s Ira Gupta held one of the highest recorded individual totals with an unbeaten 346 in a state-level domestic match, an innings that included 42 fours and 16 sixes.
Together, Ira’s 346* and Akshara’s 306* rank among the largest individual scores in women’s domestic cricket and set inspiring benchmarks for aspiring players.
Akshara, a resident of Raxaul, has been tipped as a highly talented player and a lot more is expected of her in the coming days. MyKhel has approached her family for their comments after the youngster’s excellent performance.
