Greater Noida, June: After Gujarat Diamonds finished as First Runner-Up in their debut Season 2 campaign of the Big Cricket League, owner Meenakshi Aggarwal thanked the players, support staff, management and fans for their support through the tournament.
Aggarwal said, “I am extremely proud of the way Gujarat Diamonds performed in our debut season. Reaching the final and finishing as the First Runner-Up is a significant achievement for the franchise. The players, coaching staff, management, and every individual associated with the team contributed immensely to this success. Their commitment, passion, and fighting spirit helped establish Gujarat Diamonds as one of the strongest teams in the league.”

The franchise also stood out off the field, securing nine sponsors, the highest among all teams in the Big Cricket League. Gujarat Diamonds said this showed the growing strength and popularity of its brand during the season.
Squad and future focus
The squad included former Sri Lankan captain Upul Tharanga, Isuru Udana, Asela Gunaratne, Christopher Mpofu, Jesal Karia, Gaurav Dhiman, Anujj Chaudhary, and Sural Kanwar. Aggarwal added, “I would like to thank every player who wore the Gujarat Diamonds jersey with pride. They have laid a strong foundation for the future of this franchise. We are grateful to our fans, partners, and supporters who stood behind us throughout the season.” The team is now focused on the next Big Cricket League edition.
