Aamir Khan Wedding Controversy: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan got married to his longtime girlfriend Gauri Spratt earlier this month, on July 5, in an intimate ceremony in the presence of his family members and close friends. It was his third marriage after two divorces, and the actor was beaming with joy in the wedding photos.
While the previous 10 days were supposed to be the happiest time of his life, Aamir Khan has been facing one problem after another. Several political personalities have come out and criticised him for marrying a Hindu girl and even called it an example of ‘love jihad.’ Amid all this, the latest update suggests a fatwa is being issued against the 3 Idiots star. Yes, you read that right!
FATWA ISSUED AGAINST AAMIR KHAN – REASON IS HIS WEDDING WITH GAURI SPRATT
According to an ANI report, Maulana Ibrahim Hussain, the Shahi Chief Mufti of the Muslim Personal Darul Ifta, has raised objections to Aamir and Gauri’s wedding by issuing a fatwa against it. According to him, marriage with a non-Muslim is not permissible under Sharia.
The fatwa mentions that Aamir’s wedding to non-Muslim Gauri is against Sharia, according to which a Muslim man cannot get hitched to a non-Muslim woman until she converts to Islam. In a video gaining traction on social media, the Mufti slams Aamir’s wedding and calls it “haraam.”
Maulana Ibrahim Hussain says, “Muslim mard ke liye, iman walon ke liye, gair muslim se shaadi karna haraam hai.” Take a look at the video below:
So far, neither Aamir nor Gauri has reacted to the criticism their wedding has been receiving.
AAMIR KHAN’S PREVIOUS MARRIAGES AND WIVES’ DETAILS
For those unaware, Aamir Khan was earlier married to Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao. He first tied the knot with Reena Gupta back in 1986. They got divorced in 2002 after two children, Junaid and Ira Khan, and 16 years of marital bliss. The Raja Hindustani star then tied the knot with Kiran Rao in 2005. In 2011, they welcomed their son Azad Rao Khan and then announced their separation in 2021.
Interestingly, Aamir still shares healthy relationships with his ex-wives and often gets snapped with them and his children from previous marriages.
