GEPL Season 3: Chennai Falcons, Delhi Sharks Take Top Spots On Day 2

Defending champions Chennai Falcons and Delhi Sharks emerged as the big winners on Day 2 of JetSynthesys’ Global e-Cricket Premier League (GEPL) Season 3, moving to the top of the points table with six points each.

Chennai currently lead the standings on net run rate, while Delhi sit second after both teams recorded three wins from four matches.

The day began with Mumbai Grizzlies handing Kolkata Hawks their first defeat of the season. Sara Tendulkar’s Mumbai side produced a dominant 24-run win over Sonu Nigam-owned Kolkata.

Batting first, Mumbai posted 62/1 before restricting Kolkata to secure their second victory of the campaign.

Chennai Falcons Dominate Gujarat Wolves

Chennai then secured a four-wicket win over Gujarat Wolves.

Gujarat made a steady start with 15 runs in the opening over, but Chennai quickly seized control by taking a wicket with the second delivery of the following over. The Falcons added two more wickets in the fourth over before restricting Gujarat to 43/4.

Chennai responded aggressively in the chase, attacking the Gujarat bowling from the outset. Despite losing a wicket in the third over, the Falcons completed the chase with more than an over to spare.

Delhi Sharks Maintain Winning Momentum

Delhi Sharks also picked up a four-wicket victory against Pune Stallions. Pune lost their first wicket in the opening over and struggled to build momentum as Delhi continued to strike at regular intervals, restricting the Stallions to 54/4.

Delhi faced some early pressure in the chase after losing a wicket in the opening over, but held their nerve to complete the win.

Chennai then returned to action against Hyderabad Rhinos and produced one of the day’s strongest batting performances.

The Falcons raced to 62 in their opening partnership in just four overs before two wickets fell in the final over, leaving Chennai with 78/3.

Hyderabad managed 62/4 in reply, giving Chennai a 16-run victory and their third win of the campaign.

Bengaluru Badgers Overcome Gujarat

Gujarat returned to action later in the day but suffered another defeat, this time against Bengaluru Badgers.

The Wolves posted 56/3, but Bengaluru chased down the target comfortably, sealing a four-wicket victory with an over remaining.

Pune Set Season’s Highest Score

Pune Stallions responded strongly in their second game of the day, producing the highest score of GEPL Season 3 so far.

Pune’s opening pair put together a record 79-run partnership without losing a wicket, setting Mumbai Grizzlies a formidable target.

Mumbai could only manage 62/4 in response as Pune secured a 17-run victory.

Akshat Koundal Stars As Delhi Finish Strongly

Delhi closed out the day’s action with another impressive win over Hyderabad Rhinos.

Akshat Koundal produced the standout individual performance of the day, smashing an unbeaten 55 off just 17 balls. His innings anchored a 58-run opening partnership as Delhi posted 83/2 from their five overs.

Hyderabad mounted a strong chase but finished 16 runs short at 67/4, handing Delhi their third victory of the season.
