Breaking: BCCI name India’s Sai Sudharsan replacement for Sri Lanka Test Series

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named the replacement for Sai Sudharsan in the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka.

India will play Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series, starting from August 15. Although Sudharsan was initially part of the squad, he won’t play any part after a right toe injury. He is currently rehabilitating at the BCCI centre of excellence in Bengaluru.

BCCI replace Sudharsan with Sarfaraz Khan

BCCI has named Sarfaraz Khan as the replacement for Sudharsan for the series. The Mumbai batter scored 429 runs for Mumbai in the domestic season last term, where he scored 429 runs.

For India, Sarfaraz made his debut in 2024 against England, and his last appearance came against New Zealand in 2024 as well. In 6 Test matches, the 28-year-old has scored 371 runs with a highest score of 150 to his name.

Sarfaraz becomes the third replaced player for India in the upcoming series as Auqib Nabi has already been roped in for Jasprit Bumrah. Saransh Jain was also called up after a hamstring injury ruled out Washington Sundar.
