Batwara 1947 vs Awarapan 2 Advance Booking Collection Day 1: As Independence day is around the corner, the Indian box office is set to witness an interesting clash which has got the fans brimming with an opinion. We are talking about the box office clash between Batwara 1947 and Awarapan 2. Despite different genres, both the movies have been giving each other a tough fight at the box office.
To note, Batwara 1947, which is a period action film, is helmed by Rajkumar Santoshi and features Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal, etc in the lead. The movie is set with the backdrop of the 1947 partition and has been grabbing eyeballs with a stellar cast and interesting plot. To note, Sunny Deol has collaborated with Rajkumar Santoshi after 30 years for Batwara 1947.
On the other hand, Awarapan 2, starring Emraan Hashmi, Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi in the lead, has been the much talked about and awaited sequel to the 2007 release Awarapan. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Awarapan 2 is an action thriller featuring Emraan reprising his role of Shivam Pandit. Given the buzz around both the movies, the makers have begun the advance booking ahead of release and speculations have been rife about who is leading the presales.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Batwara 1947 made a collection of Rs 1.25cr gross with a sale of 46476 tickets while the collection with block seats hasa been Rs 3.48cr
Awarapan 2 Advance Booking Collection Day 1
On the other hand, Awarapan 2 has minted Rs 5.32cr gross from advance booking with a sale of Rs 1.7 lakh tickets while the collection with block seats happens to be Rs 8.08cr.
Batwara 1947 vs Awarapan 2: Who Is Leading The Advance Booking?
As Sunny Deol and Emraan Hashmi are having a box office clash for the second time after Apne vs Awarapan in 2007, there have been speculations if Sunny will repeat the history at the ticket windows. However, given the advance booking trends, Emraan’s Awarapan 2 has been leading the presales and has earned over 4 times more than Batwara 1947.
Meanwhile, as two of Shabana Azmi’s movie is witnessing a box office clash, she told Screen, “To be offered such diverse parts at this stage of my career is pure luck, for which I’m very grateful. There was a time when Avtaar, Masoom, Kaamyab, and Yeh Nazdeekiyan were released within a fortnight of each other. But that’s because actors were working in 8-10 films at the same time, and double shifts a day were a regular occurrence”.
