Calicut Football Club have announced the retention of Argentine coach Ever Adriano Demaldé as their head coach ahead of the Super League Kerala 2026 season on Tuesday (August 18).

The Argentine coach has an extensive international coaching background. He has previously worked as an assistant coach with the Saudi Arabia national team and French giants Marseille, while also managing clubs such as Herrera FC, FC Dila, Independiente Rivadavia and Al Hilal United.

His experience across different footballing environments has helped shape a coaching philosophy centred around attacking football, possession and intense pressing.

Calicut FC Back Demaldé’s Vision

Calicut FC CEO Korath Mathew believes retaining Demaldé is an important step as the club looks to maintain the momentum generated last season.

“Ever has brought professionalism, discipline and a clear footballing identity to the club. His international exposure and understanding of the modern game continue to strengthen our vision for Calicut FC. Last season’s performance, where we topped the league table with 23 points from 10 matches, reflects the progress the team has made under his leadership. We are delighted to have him continue as our head coach and are confident that he will guide the team towards another successful season,” said Korath Mathew, CEO, Calicut FC.

Under Demaldé, Calicut FC developed a distinctive style built around keeping possession, playing on the front foot and applying pressure high up the pitch. The club will hope those qualities remain central to their approach during the new campaign.

The Argentine coach is equally eager to continue the project and believes the combination of talent, ambition and fan support can help Calicut FC compete at the top once again.

“I am excited to continue this journey with Calicut FC. We have a talented group, clear ambitions, and incredible support behind us. We will give our best every day to make our fans proud and challenge for the title again,” he said.

After finishing at the top of the league table with 23 points from 10 matches last season, expectations will be high around the club. Demaldé’s retention gives Calicut FC stability as they attempt to take the next step in this SLK season.
