New Delhi, September 2026: More than 1,200 children from across Delhi-NCR are expected to take to Kartavya Path at India Gate on September 27 as the KidyWidy Marathon returns for its second edition, with the initiative aiming to promote fitness, outdoor activity and healthy lifestyles among children.
Organised by KidyWidy and BuzzStage and supported by the FIT India Movement, the marathon will be held under the theme “Har Kadam Desh Ke Naam”. The event is expected to draw more than 4,000 participants and attendees, including children, parents, schools, academies, teachers and community members.

The organisers said the initiative is designed to encourage children to spend more time outdoors and develop a lasting connection with physical activity, while also providing families with an opportunity to participate in a shared fitness experience.
Building On 2025 Success
The 2026 edition follows the response to last year’s KidyWidy Kids Marathon at Kartavya Path, which brought together more than 800 children and over 2,500 attendees.
Building on that participation, organisers have expanded this year’s event, with more than 1,200 young runners expected to take part. Schools, sports academies and community organisations across Delhi-NCR are also being encouraged to participate.
The involvement of the FIT India Movement adds further emphasis to the event’s focus on making fitness accessible and enjoyable for children. The initiative’s broader objective is to encourage young people to adopt physical activity as part of their everyday lives.
More Than a Marathon
The event will feature a range of activities beyond the races, turning the morning into a family-oriented fitness celebration. Participants can expect Zumba and mass fitness sessions, cultural and school performances, games, creative activities, partner experiences and family photo zones.
The organisers also plan to use the event to promote messages around healthy eating, sportsmanship, discipline, patriotism, environmental responsibility and road safety through interactive activities and performances.
Every registered child will receive an official marathon T-shirt, medal, certificate and refreshments as part of the event experience.
India Gate to Set the Stage
Kartavya Path, with India Gate as its backdrop, will provide the setting for the second edition, bringing together young runners and families at one of the capital’s most recognisable landmarks.
The organisers have also invited Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, to grace the occasion.
With the event expected to grow further, KidyWidy and BuzzStage aim to develop the marathon into an annual family fitness movement that encourages thousands of children and parents to embrace an active lifestyle.
