Karan Lal produced a batting masterclass at Eden Gardens, blasting an unbeaten 145 off just 64 balls to power Servotech Siliguri Strikers to a commanding 231/2 against Adamas Howrah Warriors in Bengal T20 League Season 3 on Thursday (June 11).
Lal’s innings, studded with 14 sixes and seven fours, is the highest individual score in the league’s brief history, eclipsing Gaurav Chauhan’s 103 from Season 2.

His onslaught also produced several other landmark records: most sixes in an innings (14), most sixes in a season (22), and the most runs scored in a single over in the competition (32 in the 15th off Writtick Chatterjee).
“Today I was calmer and the target was to bat as long as possible,” Lal said after his stellar knock.
“When I found out that I was striking it well, I felt more confident to target the bowlers. I had planned to play this type of innings for a long time – to hit 12-13 sixes – and today it finally paid off. In practice at open grounds I hit close to 100 sixes, so I worked a lot on hitting sixes and on my bat speed.”
The Strikers collectively enjoyed a brutal hitting display: the team smashed 16 sixes in the innings, a new team record, and posted the highest team total in Bengal T20 League history – 231/2.
Karan’s knock anchored a rapid scoring surge that left Howrah with a daunting chase. His 32-run over (15th) swung momentum decisively in Siliguri’s favour and accelerated the run-rate late in the innings.
With two hundreds now recorded across the league’s three seasons, Lal’s innings raises the bar for middle-order big hitting in the tournament.
