Turkish ONE Heavyweight Kickboxing World Champion Samet Agdeve will defend his title against Ukrainian star Roman Kryklia in a rematch at The Inner Circle 19 on Friday, 19 June, live on live.onefc.com. Their first meeting ended with Agdeve taking the inaugural heavyweight kickboxing belt by unanimous decision.

Agdeve, 22, made a strong promotional debut last year by beating Kryklia, who entered as the reigning light heavyweight kickboxing and heavyweight Muay Thai champion. The result ended Kryklia’s bid to hold three belts at once and marked Agdeve out as a major force in heavyweight striking.

Agdeve backs his approach

The Turkish fighter is 6 feet 3 inches tall and has a perfect 18-0 professional record, with 12 wins by knockout. His style is built on heavy pressure and constant attacks. Agdeve said the result was not luck, but the outcome of years of work and sacrifice.

“Beating Roman was not a surprise. It was the result of years of hard work, sacrifice, and belief in myself. People may have been surprised by the outcome, but I wasn’t,” Agdeve said. He also said Kryklia’s knowledge of his power and pressure would not change his approach.

Kryklia seeks revenge

Kryklia, 34, stands 6 feet 7 inches tall and holds a 51-8 career record, with a 7-1 mark in ONE Championship. The Ukrainian veteran had stayed unbeaten in the promotion until Agdeve handed him his first loss there, making the rematch a key chance to respond.

“Honestly, I don’t care. Whether he has felt my power and pressure before or not doesn’t change my mindset. My job is to go into the ring, perform at my best, and defend my title. What he knows or expects is his concern, not mine,” he said.
