Shrachi Rarh Tigers reached the Bengal T20 League Season 3 final after a seven-wicket win over Novus Royals Purulia in the men’s first semifinal at Eden Gardens. Royals Purulia were bowled out for 107 in 18.2 overs, before Rarh Tigers chased the target in 12.1 overs for 110/3.
Batting first, Royals Purulia kept losing wickets and could not build long stands. Lokesh made 48, and Mithilesh Das scored 23, but the side slipped to 36/6 in the Powerplay. The innings ended at 107, with the chase set up early by Rarh Tigers’ bowlers.

Rohit Kumar led the attack with 4-24, while Shahbaz Ahmed took 2-31 and Sukhmeet Singh returned 2-7. Their efforts kept pressure on the Royals batters throughout the innings, as no partnership could alter the flow of the game at Eden Gardens.
Rarh Tigers Chase Down The Total Comfortably
In reply, Shrachi Rarh Tigers made light work of the target. Sumanta Gupta anchored the innings with an unbeaten 47 off 31 balls, while Shahbaz scored 31 off 20 deliveries. The pair helped their side stay ahead and close out the match without trouble.
The chase ended at 110/3 in 12.1 overs, with the Tigers booking their place in the final in clear style. Their batting was steady, and the team did not need to take risks once the target began to look within reach.
Skipper Shahbaz Nadeem Throws Light On Team Balance
Shahbaz said the team was no longer depending on one player. “The good thing is that the team is not dependent on just one player. Every player is playing their role well. A new match-winner is emerging in every game, and we are really enjoying that.”
He also spoke about the bowling plan and Sumanta Gupta’s form. “We wanted to check whether there was any moisture in the wicket,” Shahbaz said. “The way Sumanta Gupta has held one end in both matches has been outstanding.”
