Fresh off his monumental signing for the upcoming mythological epic, Rishab is gearing up to bring his signature classical fusion music to a global audience of millions.

As the youngest and last disciple of the legendary Pandit Ravi Shankar and scion of India’s historic Rikhi Ram instrument-making dynasty, Sharma also expressed his excitement to perform at the closing ceremony of the XXIII Commonwealth Games on August 2. Held at the iconic OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, the grand finale will celebrate the conclusion of the eleven-day international multi-sport spectacular.

Talking about it, Sharma stated, “Performing at the Commonwealth Games and representing India’s deep musical heritage is an absolute honour. I look forward to bringing the spirit and sanctity of classical fusion music to Glasgow.”

For the closing ceremony event, Sharma will share the grand stage with National Award-winning composer and singer Shankar Mahadevan (performing alongside his sons, Siddharth and Shivam). Joining hands together, they will lead India’s spectacular 20-minute cultural showcase at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony on Sunday. The presentation will conclude with the ceremonial handover of the Commonwealth Games flag, officially marking India’s journey towards hosting the landmark 2030 centenary edition in Ahmedabad.

With this performance, Sharma is set to join an illustrious group of Indian music legends who have represented the country at Commonwealth Games ceremonies over the years. Renowned artists such as Sonu Nigam, Shubha Mudgal, Kailash Kher, Sukhwinder Singh, Hariharan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghoshal, and A.R. Rahman have previously graced the global sporting event with their performances.
