Assam Floods 2026| Anupam Urges Fans To Contribute To Relief Efforts: People Have Lost Their Homes, Livelihood


Actor Anupam Kher expressed his concern over the Assam floods and urged fans and followers to extend their support by contributing to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Kher shared a video on his Instagram handle on Tuesday and said he is “deeply saddened” by the situation in Assam. “ASSAM FLOODS ! The heartbreaking images from the Assam floods have left me deeply saddened. Thousands of families have lost their homes, their livelihoods, and, in many cases, their loved ones. Even innocent animals have not been spared by this tragedy,” he wrote.

The actor also mentioned the account details of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. “If you are able to, please consider contributing to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Assam. Every contribution, big or small, can bring hope to someone trying to rebuild their life. Contribute through cheque or demand draft! My thoughts are with the people of Assam,” he added.

The floods in Assam started on July 19 and have resulted in severe destruction. A crop area of 14,230.15 hectares remained submerged. Due to widespread flooding, almost 55,000 animals have been washed away, while another 35,000 have been affected.

Damage to various infrastructure, including embankments, houses, roads, schools and other public properties has also been reported. In total, 1,28,000 people remained affected by the deluge across six districts, with Sivasagar being the worst-hit with over 55,000 impacted, followed by Charaideo (nearly 35,000) and Jorhat (more than 20,000).
