Awarapan 3 Update: Emraan Hashmi is all over the news these days and rightfully so. After all, his recent release Awarapan 2 has been creating waves across the world. The much awaited sequel to the 2007 release Awarapan has come with a massive nostalgic wave owing to the musical success of the prequel. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Awarapan 2 is written by Bilal Siddiqui and also features Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Suvinder Vicky and Puran Gabbi. While Emraan reprised his role of Shivam Pandit from the prequel, Awarapan 2 has opened to rave reviews from the audience despite a box office clash with Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947.

Interestingly, the massive success and open ended climax of Awarapan 2 has left fans speculating about the third installment of the franchise. For the uninitiated, while Shivam (played by Emraan Hashmi) was seen being enlisted in Nafisa’s (played by Shabana Azmi) gang in the climax, it dropped clear hints that there is more scope to the story. Meanwhile, Talking about the same, writer Bilal Siddiqi told Hindustan Times that he is excited about Awarapan 3 as and when it will happen.
Is Awarapan 3 On Cards?
Bilal stated, “As for part three, Vishesh (Bhatt, the film’s producer) and I have not had time to speak beyond just a few messages after the film came out. I am yet to hear from him what his plans are. I hope he thinks of it soon, of taking it forward soon, and then we’ll see what it is. I’m very excited”. He also spoke about Shabana Azmi’s track and called it a crucial role which is set up for greater things.
Meanwhile, as Awarapan 2 has crossed Rs 150cr worldwide, Bilal is over the moon with the movie’s success. He stated, “It feels good for sure. But, I’m still resuming my week as always. It’s not changing anything. But it feels good. I’ve only worked on books and shows before this. This is my first film. So it’s the first time I’ve had to look at or had the anxiety of seeing the (box office) numbers. I know it shouldn’t be something that dictates you, but you can’t help but look at it, too. It just feels like a nice zone to be in”.
