CWG 2026: India’s Performance In Glasgow vs Birmingham
India won 22 gold medals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. While the Indian contingent has already secured seven gold medals at the ongoing 2026 edition, comparisons should be made cautiously, as this year’s Games are being held in a truncated format, with fewer events than the previous edition.
CWG 2026: Boxing Rules The Roost
For India, one of the major medal contentions have been the pugilists who have managed to reach the finals of the CWG 2026 across weight categories. India is assured of at least 10 gold medals from these medal matches.
Of India’s 10 boxers competing at the Games, two have already clinched gold medals. With established stars such as Lovlina Borgohain still in contention, the Indian contingent will be hopeful of adding another two or three medals from boxing, potentially strengthening the country’s overall medal tally significantly.
