Hayley Matthews Reclaims No. 1 All-Rounder Ranking

The latest rankings update was headlined by West Indies skipper Hayley Matthews, who regained the No. 1 position in the ICC Women’s T20I All-Rounder Rankings.

Matthews overtook New Zealand captain Melie Kerr after a strong all-round performance in West Indies’ opening Women’s T20 World Cup victory over defending champions New Zealand. The Caribbean star scored 48 runs and also claimed the wicket of Sophie Devine, helping her return to the summit.

Deepti Sharma Closes In on Top

India all-rounder Deepti Sharma remains one of the biggest gainers from the latest rankings update. The experienced spinner has strengthened her position among the world’s leading T20I bowlers and is now closing in on the No. 1 ranking.

The senior all-rounder picked up a fifer against Pakistan in their T20 World Cup opener against arch-rivals Pakistan, which the Women in Blue won by a margin of 64 runs, to jump five places to fifth in the latest T20I rankings for bowlers.

The right-arm spinner from Uttar Pradesh – who also became the leading wicket-taker in the T20Is in the game – was adjudged the player of the match. She also jumped two third in the latest all-rounder’s rankings as well with the performance.

Deepti has been a consistent performer for India across formats, and her recent displays have helped her stay among the elite bowlers in women’s cricket. Her ability to contribute with both bat and ball also keeps her firmly entrenched among the top-ranked all-rounders globally.

With the Women’s T20 World Cup underway, Deepti’s form could prove crucial to India’s hopes of making a deep run in the tournament.

ICC W-T20I Latest Batting Rankings: Smriti Mandhana at 5th spot

Stylish India batter and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana continues to be the highest-ranked player from the country in the T20I Batting Rankings at fifth spot. Smriti smashed a match-winning fifty against Pakistan as the left-handed batter opened her campaign in the showpiece event with a brilliant fifty.

Australian top-order batter Georgia Voll sits at the top with 804 rating points. South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt remains number at number two followed by Australia’s Beth Mooney and Hayley Mathews at third and fourth position.

Smriti’s opening partner Shafali Verma continues to hold her place among the world’s top T20I batters at seventh position. The aggressive right-hander remains one of India’s biggest match-winners and a key figure in the team’s batting unit.

Her ability to dominate opposition bowlers during the powerplay makes her one of the most feared batters in the format. As India targets World Cup glory, Shafali’s performances at the top of the order could play a defining role.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, however, slipped one place to eleventh in the latest T20 rankings for batters as Australia’s Phoebe Litchfield made a jump of four places to break into the top ten.
