Doikho Das Credits Hardik Pandya As APL 2026 Short-ball Plan Works

As the inaugural Imperial Blue Packaged Drinking Water Assam Premier League 2026 passes its halfway mark, Dibrugarh Warriors seamer Doikho Das has emerged as a key performer. The side have five wins in six games, sit second on the points table, and Das has taken 13 wickets in six matches.

Das produced 4/33 against Charaideo Sunrisers and has an economy rate of 7.80. He said Hardik Pandya is his idol and that he copies the India all-rounder’s short-pitched style. “I consider the short ball my stock delivery. It has brought me success, and with the pitches offering assistance, I am leaning into that strength,” Das stated.

Das backs his role with a simple plan

Although he has not yet batted in the APL, Das said he is ready if needed. “I haven’t had the chance to bat yet, but I’m ready to make an impact whenever the opportunity arises,” he added. He said his bowling works because he keeps a clear plan and does not chase the batter.

“My mindset is clear. I don’t focus on the batter; I only focus on hitting my areas and sticking to the plan,” Das said. He added that individual numbers matter less than team results, and said he wants to keep improving to help the Warriors.

Warriors aim to recover after defeat

The Warriors were unbeaten at the top of the table before a recent loss to Guwahati Royals dropped them to second. Das said the team remains in good shape and expects a response in the next matches. “Losses are part of the game; we’ll learn from our mistakes and bounce back in the upcoming matches,” he said.
