England Champions unleash star power, eye WCL Season 3 title in UAE

Dubai, October 3: England Champions are set to enter the World Championship of Legends (WCL) Season 3 with a star-studded squad as the tournament gets underway across Dubai and Sharjah from October 3 to 18, 2026.

The newly acquired franchise, owned by Vauve Global, Hong Kong, the investment arm of RV Group, Dubai, is assembling a strong line-up featuring former England internationals David Malan, Jason Roy and Moeen Ali, among other established names.

The England Champions will look to draw on the experience of their veteran campaigners as they compete against six other teams in the third season of the tournament.

Sam Fernandes, CEO of RV Group, said the group was pleased to acquire the England Champions franchise and highlighted the opportunity to build a globally recognised sporting property around England’s cricketing legacy.

“We are delighted to acquire the England Champions franchise in the World Championship of Legends. WCL has built an exciting global platform that brings legendary players and some of cricket’s greatest rivalries back to the field,” Fernandes said.

He added that the group was looking forward to contributing to the next phase of the league and developing the franchise.

WCL founder and CEO Harshit Tomar also welcomed Vauve Global and RV Group to the tournament, saying their investment reflected the growing international appeal of the competition.

“With players like David Malan, Jason Roy and Moeen Ali joining the squad, England Champions already have an exciting foundation for Season 3,” Tomar said.

Season 3 will feature seven teams – India Champions, Pakistan Champions, England Champions, Australia Champions, South Africa Champions, West Indies Champions and Bangladesh Champions.

The tournament’s move to the UAE will bring several of cricket’s established international rivalries back onto the field, with the competition scheduled to be played in Dubai and Sharjah.

With a blend of experienced international players and a new ownership group, England Champions will be aiming to mount a strong title challenge in their WCL Season 3 campaign.
