Hanuman Ansh Box Office Game: The Indian box office has been witnessing a dry run for a while now wherein several biggies including Bhooth Bangla, Awarapan 2, Batwara, Cocktail 2, Welcome To The Jungle, Dhamaal 4 etc failed to create waves at the ticket window after the first week. However, amid all the biggies, there has been one movie which has been unfazed of this ongoing dry run at the ticket windows and emerged as a total winner. We are talking about Hanuman Ansh which is a devotional film and was released on August 7, 2026.
Directed and written by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh is a biopic on Neem Karoli Baba and is based on the book Divine Detour: That Changed My Life. The movie came with the star cast of Shobhinaw Satyaa, Chandan Anand, Anil Rastogi, Sugandha Malhotra, Bhagvandas Patel, Neha Paranjpe etc. Interestingly, Hanuman Ansh is a low-budget film (budget of Rs 2cr) and was released with zero expectations, without any major promotions and without any big name attached to it. In fact, it witnessed a very low opening of just Rs 10 lakhs and was seen struggling at the box office for two weeks post-release.

However, the positive word of mouth changed the game for Hanuman Ansh in the third week and the movie was seen picking up pace gradually to earn more than Rs 20cr in a day. And now that it has been in the sixth week, Hanuman Ansh continues to be unstoppable at the ticket windows. While it recorded its highest single-day collection on 5th Sunday (Rs 22.75cr), currently it stands at a net collection of Rs 240.51cr today, while worldwide it has entered the prestigious Rs 300cr club so far. But that isn’t all.

Hanuman Ansh, which did pick slow at the box office, is now beating biggies like Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. Yes! After minting Rs 6cr on day 41 (6th Wednesday), Hanuman Ansh has made a collection of Rs 3.38cr until 7 pm today and managed to beat Dhurandhar (Rs 3cr), Chhaava (Rs 1.35cr), Stree (Rs 1.25cr) and Pathaan (Rs 1.25cr). To note, while Hanuman Ansh is leading the single-day collection over the biggies, it still has an ocean to cross to beat the overall net collection of Dhurandhar, Chhava, Pathaan etc in 42 days in India.
How Hanuman Ansh Is A Game Changer – Expert Opinion
Interestingly, Hanuman Ansh has been recreating the craze which was once created by the 1975 release Jai Santoshi Maa, which had turned theatres into temples and even reportedly affected the shows of one of India’s biggest blockbusters, Sholay, especially during the daytime. So when we asked film business expert Sumit Kadel about Hanuman Ansh being a game changer, he exclusively told Filmibeat’s Ranpreet Kaur, “Hanuman Ansh is a box-office miracle. This film hasn’t worked merely on its merits; I believe a divine intervention has played a major role in making it work on such a massive scale. It started picking up from the third week and continues to do wonders even in its sixth week. Hanuman Ansh is definitely one of the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema. In terms of return on investment, it is bigger than Jai Santoshi Maa, but in terms of footfalls, Jai Santoshi Maa will be much, much ahead”.
And while several big-budget films with elite casts are finding it difficult to survive at the box office lately, the devotional films are rewriting the box office game. We saw a similar situation with Mahavatar Narsimha, which also made a worldwide collection of Rs 300-325cr. And now that Daayra, starring Kareena Kapoor and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is set to hit the screens tomorrow, it is worth a watch if Hanuman Ansh will continue its glorious run amid the new releases.
