India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bat first in the fourth T20I against England at the County Ground in Bristol on Thursday (July 9).
The visitors head into the contest needing a victory to keep the five-match series alive. England currently lead the series 2-0 after winning the second and third T20Is, while the opening match was abandoned due to rain. A defeat for India in Bristol would hand England an unassailable lead and seal the series.

Speaking after winning the toss, Iyer explained his decision and stressed the importance of adapting quickly to the conditions.
“We are going to bat first. The fearlessness. We are not able to execute our plans. Boys are in high spirits and looking forward to this match. We have to adapt quickly and be up to the mark. The surface looks good. We’ve got two changes. Washi and Prasidh come on,” Iyer said at the toss.
India have made two changes to their playing XI, with Washington Sundar and Prasidh Krishna returning to the side, replacing Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy respectively.
Why are Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy not playing?
Both Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy are ruled out due to hamstring injuries. The KKR duo in the Indian team will play no further part in the series and thus the team management had to make the forced changes.
