West Indies produced a stunning batting display to defeat India by six wickets in the second T20I at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi, chasing a mammoth target of 253 with nine balls to spare.

Captain Shai Hope led the charge with an unbeaten 102 off just 45 balls, smashing six fours and nine sixes. Sherfane Rutherford provided equally explosive support, scoring 84 off 37 deliveries, including seven fours and seven sixes, as the visitors turned the contest into a run-fest.

West Indies suffered an early setback, losing Kamil Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer for just five runs. However, Hope steadied the innings alongside Rovman Powell, who contributed 24 off 13 balls, before Rutherford joined the captain to dismantle India’s bowling attack.

The pair added 120 runs for the fourth wicket, taking West Indies to 178 before Rutherford departed in the 15th over. Romario Shepherd then finished the job in spectacular fashion, smashing an unbeaten 34 off just 13 balls, with Hope guiding the visitors home at 252/4 in 18.3 overs.

Earlier, Mayank Yadav was India’s most successful bowler, claiming three wickets for 36 runs. However, the remaining Indian bowlers struggled to contain the Caribbean power-hitters, with Axar Patel conceding 63 runs in 3.3 overs.
