Online trolls have been body-shaming the actress over her weight gain, conveniently forgetting that Katrina gave birth to her baby boy just a few months ago. Some have even been sharing her then-and-now photos to comment on her changed appearance. Bizarre, right?
However, amid the brutal weight-gain scrutiny, Pakistani actor and Katrina’s Meri Brother Ki Dulhan co-star Ali Fazal has come out in support of her. In a video, now going viral on the internet, Ali can be seen calling out the trolls for criticizing Katrina over her postpartum weight gain. Addressing the criticism, the actor captioned his post, “Agar mard ho to apne andar jhaanko.”
In the video, without naming Katrina, Ali said, “What personal issues do we men have? Let’s talk about it. Recently, I saw some posts, comments, on social media about a colleague, co-star, with whom I had worked in Bollywood. A lot of discussions are happening that earlier she used to look like this and now she looks like this. Earlier also, I had spoken about my colleagues here (Pakistan) like Mahira Khan and others, and I am speaking about it for the past many years. I feel that as a male, we all need to look inside ourselves, and make corrections. No one is perfect. But, important part is to recognise, realise, and correct that.”
