Khushi Mukherjee interview: Last year brought a series of unexpected challenges for Khushi Mukherjee. As I interacted with her, she claimed that she faced a life-threatening health crisis after suffering a heart attack followed by a brain stroke.

In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat Assistant Editor Abhishek Ranjit over a phone call, Khushi Mukherjee opened up about her recovery journey and the emotional experiences that changed her perspective on life. She revealed that her family members abandoned her during the crucial phase in her life, adding that caring for voiceless animals became her biggest source of strength.
Khushi Mukherjee: I Suffered Heart Attack And Brain Stroke Last Year
Khushi got emotional as she shared her story, “I suffered a heart attack followed by a brain stroke last year. Last year was full of surprises and eye-opening experiences for me. The people whom I had supported and helped so much were not there for me when I needed them the most. Even my family left me during a time when I needed their support.”
“That phase made me realise how temporary life is. For these speechless animals, there is no concept of money, status or wealth. If I leave this world one day, my name and everything I own will disappear, but if I am able to save many lives, that will remain meaningful. That thought kept motivating me. Helping animals gave me the courage and will to live longer and continue my work,” she added.
I Made Sure Stray Animals Kept Receiving Food Even During My Recovering Phase
“Even while recovering, I made sure stray animals continued to receive food and medical care. I know how it feels to be sick and feel like you have no one by your side. When you see videos of those innocent lives suffering in pain, you forget your own problems,” the actress said.
“It feels as if they are telling me that I am the chosen one and that they need me. Their suffering gives me the strength to keep going and reminds me of my purpose,” she said.
My Health Crisis Changed My Perspective
I asked her if her experience of surviving a brain stroke changed the way she looked at life.
“Yes, it changed my perspective completely. My main goal now is to grow my income to a level where I can donate at least 1,000 kg of food every month for animals. This week itself, I donated 100 kg,” she proudly said.
“From the earnings I make in the future, I want to start a dog food company, along with a shelter and hospital where stray animals can live, eat, and receive treatment free of cost – even after I am no longer here. I want this mission to continue beyond my lifetime,” Khushi added.
A Message For Those Who Want To Help
Having overcome a brain stroke while continuing animal welfare efforts, Khushi shared a message for those who want to help the strays.
“Where there is a will, there is a way. Believe in the power of manifestation and the universe. You are born alone, you will die alone, and you can still live your life by serving your purpose and making these speechless lives beautiful. Try living for them, and you will find happiness from within. Along with that, maintaining a healthy diet, practising yoga and meditation, and taking some time for your hobbies can keep you motivated and positive. For me, saving animals is not just a responsibility – it is the purpose that gave me the strength to keep moving forward,” she concluded.
