Featuring Sharvari, Vedang Raina, Naseerudding Shah, and Diljit Dosanjh in the main roles, the film was released in theatres in June this year and won appreciation from moviegoers for its storyline as well as strong performances.

Since then, everyone has been eagerly awaiting the digital premiere of Main Vaapas Aaunga. Well, their wait is finally coming to an end as the film is ready for its OTT release in just a few days. MAIN VAAPAS AAUNGA STREAMING PLATFORM: WILL THE FILM SUCCEED ON NETFLIX?
Amid a dull buzz, Main Vaapas Aaunga made its theatrical debut on June 12 this year and clashed with Kangana Ranaut starrer Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata at the box office. Despite getting critical acclaim, the film ended the first week on a disappointing note. However, the positive word of mouth started translating into numbers from the second week with the movie recently completing 50 days in the theatres.
After turned out to be a box office success, the Diljit Dosanjh starrer is now set to premiere on Netflix on August 7. Yes, you read that right!
Revealing the same, a source exclusively told Filmibeat, “Main Vaapas Aaunga will premiere on Netflix on August 7. The film has enjoyed a successful run in theatres for more than 50 days, and the makers believe the OTT release will give it a fresh wave of viewership. The theatrical response has exceeded expectations, and the team is confident that the film will find an even bigger audience on Netflix. Everyone is eagerly waiting to see how it performs on the streaming platform.”
However, Netflix is yet to officially announce the same.

For those unaware, Main Vaapas Aaunga revolves around 95-year-old Ishar aka Keenu, played by Naseeruddin Shah, who is on his death bed and shares his pre-partition love story with his grandson Nirvair, essayed by Diljit Dosanjh. The film then goes into flashback as Keenu reveals story of his first love and how his grandson tries to fulfill his last week which is connected to his former ladylove who was left in Pakistan after the partition.
Interestingly, the film collected just Rs 12.25 crore in the first week. However, things eventually changed and by its 45th day, the romantic saga earned Rs 98.86 crore worldwide and was declared a profitable venture for the makers.
