Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been handed a major boost after receiving clearance from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to participate in the entire 2026 season of The Hundred, a report from Cricbuzz said on Saturday (July 4).

The decision paves the way for the experienced seamer to become the first Bangladeshi cricketer to feature in England’s 100-ball competition.

BCB officials confirmed that Mustafizur has been granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from July 20 to August 20, allowing him to remain available throughout the tournament, which begins on July 21.

The 30-year-old was snapped up by Birmingham Phoenix during The Hundred 2026 draft after being signed for his reserve price of GBP 100,000. His availability for the full competition comes as a significant boost for the franchise, which will rely on his vast experience in franchise cricket and his renowned death-bowling skills.

In another development, the BCB has also issued an NOC to Parvez Hossain Emon to participate in the Global Super League after Bangladesh’s three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo, scheduled for July 15, 17 and 19. Emon will represent Lahore Qalandars in the tournament later this month.

Mustafizur was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders after he was picked for a hefty price in the auction. Despite the signing, geopolitical tensions between India and Bangladesh led to him being dropped from the KKR squad.
