Spider-Man: Brand New Day recorded a 10 per cent drop on its third Thursday, collecting Rs. 1.80 crore gross. The movie wrapped its third week at Rs. 36.45 crore gross, taking its three-week running cume to Rs. 553.95 crore gross at the Indian box office.
The Tom Holland starrer is expected to record a good spike this weekend, which will take its running cume to Rs. 565 crore or so. The superhero action flick is looking to close its entire run under the Rs. 600 crore gross club. Spider-Man: Brand New Day has already emerged as the highest-grossing Hollywood film in India, surpassing Avatar: The Way of Water.
There are probably seven other films since Jurassic Park in 1994 that can be classified as ATBBs, including Titanic, Avatar, The Jungle Book, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Avatar: The Way of Water. Other potential contenders are Spider-Man 3, 2012, and Furious 7.
The Tom Holland film could also go on to hit 2 crore footfalls, which only two films have managed to do: Titanic and Avengers: Endgame. Brand New Day is currently the third-most-watched Hollywood film in India, with footfalls of around 1.9 crore.
