New Delhi, July 6: Fifteen-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has expressed gratitude to his fans after becoming India’s youngest-ever international cricketer, promising to give his best for the country every time he steps onto the field.

Sooryavanshi created history during the second T20I against England in Manchester, making his debut at just 15 years and 99 days. The teenage opener became the youngest player to represent India across all formats and the youngest debutant from a Test-playing nation in T20I history.

“Thank you, everyone for all your wishes and support. It has always been my dream to represent my country and I am grateful for this opportunity. I will always give my best for India every single time,” he wrote in a story on his Instagram account.

The youngster also eclipsed long-standing records held by Sachin Tendulkar, who made his international debut at 16 years and 205 days in Tests, and Piyush Chawla, who debuted in Test cricket at 17 years and 75 days.

India Goes Down Despite Abhishek & Shreyas’ Heroics

India posted 190/7 after contributions from Abhishek Sharma (43), Shreyas Iyer (37), Ishan Kishan (49), and an unbeaten 24 off 11 balls from Tilak Varma. Sam Curran was England’s standout bowler with figures of 3/33.

England recovered from the early dismissals of Phil Salt and Jos Buttler for ducks, with captain Harry Brook scoring a rapid 39 before Jacob Bethell’s unbeaten 76 guided the hosts to victory in 19 overs.

With the opening T20I washed out due to rain, England now holds a 1-0 lead in the five-match series, while Sooryavanshi’s memorable debut has already marked the beginning of a potentially remarkable international career.
