Street Fighter got a fun desi twist at HYROX Mumbai, as fitness enthusiasts stepped into the shoes of some of the gaming franchise’s most iconic characters and it has left Vidyut Jammwal impressed. Over the weekend, a group of fans dressed Dhalsim while taking on the event’s high-intensity challenges, bringing the distinctive looks and spirit of the beloved fighters to the fitness floor.
The fan moment comes as Paramount Pictures, Legendary Entertainment and Capcom gear up to bring the iconic arcade game to the big screen, with Vidyut Jammwal making his global debut as Dhalsim. One of the franchise’s most recognisable characters, Dhalsim also has a strong connection with Indian audiences, making Vidyut’s casting a key highlight of the upcoming film. Besides Dhalsim, a few of the fans also dressed up as Ken and Ryu. Vidyut gave a shoutout to the fans on his social media.
Fellow Street Fighter fans were impressed. “Dhalsim peak!” a fan wrote. “So accurate,” added another, referring to the costume.
Helmed by director Kitao Sakurai, Street Fighter is set to bring the battle from the arcade to the big screen with Hadoukens, roundhouses, and all your favourite characters.
The cast includes Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Andrew Koji as Ryu, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i as Akuma, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, Eric André as Don Sauvage, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Orville Peck as Vega, Olivier Richters as Zangief, Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, Rayna Vallandingham as Juli, Alexander Volkanovski as Joe, with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog and Jason Momoa as Blanka.
Street Fighter will be released on 16th October 2026 across India in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
