Introduced in the 60th minute, Koumas quickly became a key threat. The forward registered three attempts, a total surpassed only by Dan James, who hit the woodwork twice. Koumas’ decisive moment came in the third minute of stoppage time, meeting Neco Williams’ precise right-wing cross with a well-directed header beyond goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.

Jordan Ayew reached a landmark by making a 120th appearance for Ghana, drawing level with Andre Ayew as joint record appearance holder for the Black Stars. The occasion, however, again highlighted Ghana’s troubles away to European opposition, with the side still searching for a first win on such trips.
