Chelsea have secured one of the brightest young talents in American football after agreeing a future deal for 15-year-old Benji Flowers, with the teenager set to officially join the Premier League club when he turns 18.
The move comes after Flowers signed his first professional contract with FC Dallas, allowing him to continue his development in Major League Soccer before making the switch to Stamford Bridge.

As per a report from The Athletic, the London club is set to pay an initial fee of £2.25 million to Dallas FC, which can rise up to £7.5 million when he turns 18 and eventually joins the London club.
Who is Benji Flowers?
Benji Flowers is a left winger born on April 14, 2011. Eligible to represent both the United States and Mexico, he has emerged as one of the most exciting prospects in North American football.
A product of the renowned FC Dallas Academy, Flowers has consistently impressed with his pace, dribbling ability and eye for goal. His rapid rise has already earned him appearances for the United States U-15 national team, where he has continued to showcase his attacking qualities.
Young history-maker
Flowers made headlines earlier this year when he debuted for North Texas SC at just 14 years, 11 months and seven days, becoming the second-youngest player in the club’s history. His performances also earned him selection for the 2026 MLS NEXT All-Star Game, underlining his status as one of the country’s elite youth prospects.
Chelsea have reached a pre-agreement that will see Flowers move to London once he turns 18, in line with FIFA regulations governing international transfers of minors. FC Dallas are expected to receive an initial fee of around $3 million, with performance-related add-ons potentially taking the package to $10 million. The MLS club has also secured a sell-on clause in the deal.
Flowers recently travelled to London to complete the Chelsea side of the agreement, with the Blues continuing their strategy of investing in elite teenage talent from around the world. The Premier League club has already roped in Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for an enormous fee of £117 million.
