Who Is Saransh Jain?

Born in Indore, Saransh Jain is a bowling all-rounder who made his debut in domestic cricket in 2014. Since then, he has been a key player for his state in the domestic circuit. Jain has represented the Central Zone team as well as the Rest of India. He recently played for India A in the Sri Lanka tour. So far, he has taken 181 wickets and scored 2223 runs in first-class cricket. A handy batter, Jain’s ability to bat in the lower order is expected to help India in the series to push forward in case the batting order starts to lose wickets in heaps.

Interestingly, Saransh Jain’s father, Subodh Jain, was also a cricketer during his heydays. A right-arm off-break bowler, Subodh played 9 Ranji matches for Madhya Pradesh and always dreamt of playing for India. That dream did not materialise, but his son is ready to carry his father’s unfulfilled legacy forward.

He played a vital role in Madhya Pradesh’s historic victory by scoring a half-century in the first innings and taking two wickets in the final against Mumbai in Chennai. Recently, he played for India A in two unofficial Tests against Sri Lanka A. In the second unofficial Test, he played a key role in India A’s victory by scoring 70 runs and taking 6 wickets. This caught the eye of the selectors, earning him the much-deserved place in the Indian team.
