Japan Open 2026 Preview: Schedule, Indian Shuttlers In Charge & Live Streaming Details

With the BWF World Championships 2026 just around the corner, the upcoming Japan Open will be the perfect training ground for shuttlers. India, being the hosts for the World Championships, the spotlight will obviously turn towards the Indian shuttlers who will be taking part in the Japan Open. All the shuttlers who have been shortlisted for the BWF World Championships will be competing in the tournament, which starts tomorrow (IST).

The tournament will carry a total prize money of $ 950,000. But more than the money, as former Indian men’s doubles badminton player Leroy D’ Sa remarked, the tournament will be the perfect ‘dress rehearsals’ for the Indian shuttlers.

Japan Open is one of the mandatory stops on the BWF World Tour, making it a key opportunity for players to earn valuable ranking points for shuttlers. The Indian charge will be led by youngster Lakshya Sen and veteran shuttler PV Sindhu. The men’s doubles will once again be riding on the shoulders of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty in the competition.
